U.S. courts appoint White American guardians over Indian minors' interests in allotment process

A class of grifters and thieves arise to swindle Native children out of lands in Indian Country as well as bankers, lawyers, and businessmen trustees who take the incomes of their Indian wards. Some murder Native children for their assets, land, oil (once found), and money (Carter, 1976).
